As the Mother of two children who are now adults, I know how
demanding it is to give birth and cope with babies and young
children. Always feeling tired, wishing someone was there
during the day so I could take a ‘nap’ enabling me to deal with
the night feeds.
Having reached a milestone in my life I knew it was time for a
change of direction. Barbara told me about her work as a Doula
and suggested it as a way of sharing my knowledge and experience
of Motherhood with others.
After much research I chose a course with ‘Developing Doulas’, who are recognised by ‘Doula UK’ to train Birth and Post~Birth Doulas.
Since completing my Doula Training in 2008 I have been lucky enough to support mothers in Norfolk and Suffolk.

I am a Mother and Grandmother. I trained with ‘Nurturing Birth’
and have been a Doula since 2001.
I have worked with 34 families with newborns including 5 sets of
twins but no triplets yet! It has been my great pleasure to be with
these families at this precious time.
Know affectionately as ‘Rent a Granny’ returning to some families
for their 2nd and 3rd babies.
The Mother of the twins pictured with me is now expecting twins again in February 2009 – just to get me back!!! Twins arrived safely on 2nd February.
I was filmed for Sky TV with a couple from Norwich before, during and after the birth of their second baby – a wonderful event.
We offer…
Doula services in Suffolk and South Norfolk. Working as a team we provide backup for each other. Every enquiry will be dealt with professionally. One or both of us, if you would prefer, will visit you in your own home for a free consultation, prior to the birth. We can discuss, with you, what your needs may be. Once engaged, by you, we will remain flexible and are more than willing to fit around your families needs as and when you know what they will be.
